Method
Pop the popcorn
- Heat the oil in a covered 6-quart pot over medium heat.
- Add 3 popcorn kernels; when they pop, add the remaining kernels and cover the pot.
- Shake the pot occasionally for 4–6 minutes, until popping slows to 2–3 seconds between pops.
- Divide the popcorn between two parchment-lined 18x13-inch rimmed baking sheets.
- Remove any unpopped kernels and sprinkle the popcorn with the salt.
Add the mix-ins
- Scatter the pretzels, candy corn, and orange and black candy-coated chocolates over the popcorn.
- Gently toss to combine.
Coat and decorate
- Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds for 1–2 minutes, until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted candy over the popcorn mixture.
- Gently toss, then immediately scatter the candy eyeballs and Halloween sprinkles over the top.
- Let the popcorn stand at room temperature for 20–30 minutes, until the coating is set.
- Break into pieces and serve.
Notes
For even coverage, drizzle the melted candy in thin ribbons while gently tossing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days; do not freeze. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pretzels.
